Her passion for fertility was established while serving as a research assistant and patient navigator for the University of Colorado Oncofertility Program before becoming a PA-C. In observing the inequity between patients who were able to afford fertility preservation treatment and those who were not, Natalie created an initiative to offset the cost of those treatments for patients in need. This same dedication and her desire to expand access to fertility care led her to return to the specialty after training.
With a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Rocky Vista University and a Master of Science in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, she brings a sophisticated clinical skillset paired with a genuine warmth and dedication to every patient she serves. How Egg Freezing Works at Open Fertility Roseville
Your Open Fertility provider leads your consultations, treatment planning, and monitoring appointments locally at our Roseville clinic. Egg retrievals are performed by a Spring Fertility reproductive endocrinologist at Spring Fertility’s lab in Sunnyvale. A patient navigator is assigned after your first appointment and can be reached through the Salve app to support you throughout treatment.
01 Initial Testing
Your initial consultation will take place on-site at our Roseville clinic. You’ll complete initial testing and then meet with your dedicated provider, sometimes virtually, to discuss your test results and learn more about the egg freezing process. This appointment takes about an hour, and you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions.
02 Treatment Plan
The results from your initial visit, including your ovarian reserve, hormone levels, medical history, and reproductive goals, allow your provider to build a treatment plan and calendar that reflects your clinical picture and your schedule.
03 Ovarian Stimulation
When you decide to move forward, you’ll begin self-administering hormonal injections to grow the eggs in your ovaries. We teach you how. We’ll monitor your ovaries’ progress during this time with transvaginal ultrasounds and bloodwork.
04 Egg Retrieval
Once your follicles have reached the appropriate stage of development, you’ll be scheduled for your egg retrieval, a 20-minute outpatient procedure performed by a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist under general anesthesia. For this procedure, you will travel to Spring Fertility’s lab in Sunnyvale. Many patients are able to take this day off and return to work or normal daily activities the following day, though recovery varies.
05 Storage
Your eggs will be cryopreserved and securely stored at Spring Fertility’s lab until you decide what to do with them. Cryopreserved eggs can remain stored for many years. Your care team can discuss storage timelines and options specific to your situation.
