What You Can Manage From Home

The idea of giving yourself injections or managing parts of treatment outside a clinic can feel overwhelming at first. That’s completely normal. Our simplified process empowers you to handle several parts of treatment from home, with step-by-step support designed to help you feel prepared and confident at every stage. This approach reduces unnecessary clinic visits and makes fertility care more accessible and affordable.

What you can do from home:

  • Medication Injections: Self-administer your fertility medications with confidence
  • Video-Guided Medication Training: Step-by-step guidance through MDR Med Coach teaches you exactly how to prepare and administer each injection
  • Trigger Shot Administration: When your follicles are ready, you administer the trigger shot at home before traveling for your retrieval
  • Questions and Communication: Message your Patient Navigator through the Salve App anytime you need guidance
  • Scheduling Coordination: Work with your Patient Navigator to plan appointments that fit your calendar

This flexible approach helps you save on travel and time away from work while receiving the high-quality care Open Fertility is known for.

What Requires Your Presence at Our Clinic

Some steps in your fertility treatment require in-person care. Our team consolidates these appointments to minimize the days you need to be on-site.

In-person appointments include:

  • Initial Consultation: Meet with your Open Fertility Provider to review your health history and goals, including a pelvic ultrasound for antral follicle count and uterine health
  • Baseline Appointment: Ultrasound with our Sonographer to confirm you’re ready to begin, followed by a Provider call to review results and start injections
  • Monitoring Appointments: Return to the clinic a few times over 10-14 days for ultrasound check-ins during your stimulation phase
  • Egg Retrieval: A board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist performs your retrieval at our partner lab
  • Embryo Transfer: If applicable, your transfer is also performed by a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist at the same partner lab location

Egg retrievals and embryo transfers take place at Spring Fertility‘s laboratory facilities. Your Patient Navigator will provide specific directions and help you plan for travel to your designated lab location.

Preguntas frecuentes.

How do I communicate with my care team between visits?

Every patient receives access to the Salve App for secure messaging with your Patient Navigator. You can ask questions, coordinate scheduling and stay informed throughout treatment. Your Provider also calls you directly after milestones like egg retrieval to discuss results. This accessible, supportive communication is part of what makes Open Fertility’s affordable care model work.

What support do I receive while managing medications at home?

Open Fertility provides video guidance through MDR Med Coach to help you confidently administer your fertility medications. Your Patient Navigator is also available through the Salve App whenever you need reassurance or have questions. We prioritize empathy and respect, so you always feel understood and supported.

What makes Open Fertility more affordable?

Our care model focuses on straightforward fertility cases with less complexity, ideal for patients who don’t need extensive or high-touch support. By eliminating unnecessary appointments and streamlining care, we offer treatment at a fraction of the national average. This focus on accessibility breaks down financial barriers, making fertility treatment affordable for patients who may not have considered it before.

Can I complete my initial consultation remotely?

Your initial consultation requires an in-person visit to one of our clinics. During this appointment, your Provider reviews your health history and fertility goals, and performs a pelvic ultrasound to assess your antral follicle count and uterine health. This baseline information helps us create your personalized treatment plan. After your initial consultation, many parts of your care can be managed from home, reducing your overall costs and time away from work.

How many in-person visits should I expect?

The number of visits depends on your treatment. For egg freezing, most patients have 5-7 in-person appointments: an initial consultation, a baseline appointment, several monitoring visits over 10-14 days, and the egg retrieval at our partner lab. FIV patients typically add one more visit for embryo transfer. Our affordable approach means fewer unnecessary appointments and more value for your investment.
